Economic Justice

The Women's Law Project advocates increased flexibility and supports for women on welfare, challenging welfare restrictions that endanger and impoverish vulnerable families. Health care, as well as physical and mental wellness issues are paramount in the lives of families, especially those oppressed by poverty, discrimination, violence and abuse. Research overwhelmingly establishes that exposure to trauma and violence is the primary precursor to dysfunctional behavior in women. The WLP provides informed advocacy around these critical issues to ensure enlightened, integrated and more effective policy response.
