Equity in Employment

The Women’s Law Project has always acted to expand and protect the rights of working women, ensuring equal treatment at the office. Early in the firm’s development, we were involved in Zichy v City of Philadelphia, a class action suit challenging the City’s refusal to allow female employees to use sick leave for disabilities arising from pregnancy and childbirth. The case prompted revision of City policy as well as eventual back pay and seniority rights for eligible plaintiffs.
