Direct Service and Community Education

In addition to ligitation, public policy and advocacy work, the Women's Law Project also provides direct service through two programs which assist individuals with information and help in navigating the legal system.

Domestic Violence Assistance Project. The Women’s Law Project, in cooperation with Philadelphia Legal Assistance, developed a new initiative with the Philadelphia Family and Municipal Courts that trains volunteers to help individuals seeking Protection from Abuse orders understand and complete the legal process and prepare more effectively for their hearings.
Telephone Counseling and Consumer Education Service. The WLP operates (ask Dabney).
