Health Care Reform: LitigationWLP has signed on to several amicus (“friend of the court”) briefs prepared by the National Women’s Law Center in challenges to the constitutionality of the individual responsibility provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). The briefs argue that the ACA is constitutional as a valid exercise of Commerce Clause authority. They highlight the importance of the ACA in making important advances in women’s health care and addressing the discrimination and obstacles to access to health care which was a major concern of Congress when it adopted the ACA.
