Sending emails to state lawmakers is important work, but have you tried meeting up with hundreds of committed Pennsylvanians at the Capitol to build power together?
At Our Health, Our Lobby Day, we held 67 legislative meetings and made our priorities clear. Among other priorities, we strongly urged lawmakers to advance:
- A state FACE Act to protect providers and patients from escalating political violence
- A paid family leave program so workers never have to choose between a paycheck and caring for loved ones
- Explicit statewide LGBTQ nondiscrimination protections
At the rally, Philadelphia Office Director Lila Slovak reminded us that, as a hostile federal government targets our freedoms, state law and state constitutional protections are our strongest shield—and WLP’s work has never been more essential.
