INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

WLP’s Internship Opportunities

Women’s Law Project (WLP) is a public interest legal organization working to defend and advance the rights of women, girls, and LGBTQ+ people in Pennsylvania and beyond. Using an intersectional analysis, our work centers the needs of people facing multiple forms of oppression based on sex, gender, race, ethnicity, class, disability, incarceration, pregnancy, and immigration status. We leverage impact litigation, policy advocacy, public education, and direct assistance and representation to dismantle discriminatory laws, policies, and practices, eradicate institutional biases, and advance gender justice.

WLP is a hybrid workplace. The in-office component is based either out of Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, but WLP permits remote work when it is appropriate and reasonable.

Law Internship

WLP is no longer accepting applications for interns in our Philadelphia office, but we are still accepting applicants for in-person internship opportunities in our Pittsburgh office, on a rolling basis.

Law interns work closely with legal staff on a variety of gender justice issues, including reproductive rights, abortion access, pregnancy discrimination, equity in athletics, violence against women, LGBTQ equality, and court reform. Interns perform legal research and writing, help draft legal briefs and amicus briefs, communicate with clients and prospective clients, and assist attorneys with judicial bypass cases. Interns also attend weekly staff meetings and other meetings as opportunities arise.

Summer Diversity Law Internship

WLP is no longer accepting applications for the diversity stipend for 2024.
